CoMiX Wave Films, the Japanese anime studio behind Makoto Shinkai’s your name., is teaming up with Chinese company, Haoliners, for the visually-stunning anime film, Shikioriori. And now, fans worldwide can soon watch the anime film online, legally. This is because Netflix has revealed that they will be streaming this Japanese-Chinese co-production globally. They’ve also announced its official English name, Flavors of Youth. The global streaming service also revealed its international trailer and visual:

The anime will be having a 3-week limited theatrical run in Japan starting 4th August. However, Netflix also revealed that it will also be the same day they will release the international version. In other words, they will begin streaming the anime film on 4th August in several countries and territories.
The film will feature three separate stories set in three different Chinese cities, with protagonists taking a look back at their pasts. And with three different stories, it will also have three different visionary Chinese directors. Yi Xiaoxingb will direct the first story, Hidamari no Choushoku, which takes part in the director’s hometown of Hunan. Meanwhile, Takeuchi Yoshitaka will direct the second one titled Chiisana Fashion Sow, which follows two sisters in Guangzhou Province. Finally, Haoliners founder Li Haoling is directing the third tale, Shanghai Koi, which will be a youthful love story. You can also check out the anime’s main cast here.
Makoto Shinkai may not be directing it, but it sure looks beautiful, huh? However, the visual credited the “Creator of your name.”, even if Shinkai himself didn’t direct it.
