[ANIME] Shokugeki no Soma’s Toutsuki Autumn election unveils Akira Hayama, Nao Sadatsuka

The spring anime, Shokugeki no Soma, has revealed the cast for participants in the 92nd Toutsuki Autumn Election. The Toutsuki Autumn Election is a cooking showdown among the top 80 first-year students. The event is held to find out the standing of the current first-year students.

Leading the pack is veteran seiyuu Junichi Suwabe (Ren Jinguji in Uta no Prince sama franchise), playing Akira Hayama, one of the participants in the Toutsuki Autumn Election.  Together with Hayama, Sadako-lookalike, Nao Sadatsuka, known as the “Nabe no mae no majo” of Toutsuki Culinary Academy, will also participate in the election. She will be played by Saori Gotou (Plue in Fairy Tail).  Another contender of the Autumn Election is Miyoko Hojou, the heiress to the famed Chinese restaurant, Houjourou. She will be played by Asami Seto (Chihaya Ayase in Chihayafuru).

Shokugeki no Soma is a manga series written by Yuuto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki. It began its serialization in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine in November 2012. The story begins with Souma (CV: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), a middle school student who aspires one day to take over their family’s restaurant, Yukihira, and to defeat and surpass his father’s cooking skills. He hosts cooking battles with his father, Jouichirou Yukihira (CV: Rikiya Koyama), daily but he always gets defeated. One day, his father enrolls him in Toutsuki Culinary Academy, the country’s top culinary school with a 10% graduation rate. His father beckons him to get stronger and graduate from that school. They will settle the score again once Souma graduates.
