Released around the same time as “Your Name” in Japan, “The Silent Voice” has been lauded as a visual masterpiece and a voice to for the deaf. With both, it’s breathtaking visual by “Kyoto Animation” and the controversial topics like deafness, bullying, suicidal and more.
The plot is of one feeling the guilt of bullying the other, trying to earn forgiveness after learning the harsh reality of being outcasted and the other seeking love in the most ordinary form possible. At the core, it’s a love story between the two main characters, Shouko and Shouya. The movie itself will contain many meaningful messages, so please do look out of it.
With an amazing cast with Saori Hayami as Shouko Nishimiya and Miyu Irino as Shouya Ishida. This is along with Aoi Yuuki, Yui Ishikawa, Megumi Han and more contributing to the voicing. Not to mention, the Theme Song Koi wo Shita no wa (恋をしたのは)” has been written and performed by singer song-writer aiko.

“The Silent Voice” will be coming onto Singapore’s shore on 9 March to Golden Village and WE cinemas; The movie is expected to run for 2 weeks at the least. A release for Malaysia and Brunei would follow on April 20.
The film has been imported by Purple Plan and they are hinting at more releases in the future.
