One of the most touching moments in the original AnoHana anime was presented when the Super Peace Busters were just kids. As the anime is getting a live-action TV drama special, the child actors playing the younger versions of the main cast have finally been revealed.
From left to right, here are the kids playing the younger Super Peace Busters:
- Santa Takahashi as Tetsudoi “Poppo” Hisakawa
- Chinami Yoshioka as Naruko “Anaru” Anjou
- Minamide Ryouka as Jinta “Jintan” Yadomi
- Kanon Tani as Meiko “Menma” Honma
- Ruiki Satou as Atsumu “Yukiatsu” Matsuyuki
- Karen Ichihara as Chiriko “Tsuruko” Tsurumi
These child actors will be starring in the TV special’s opening scene, which features them playing a game of Hide-and-Seek in the famous Saitama poppy fields.

The live-action TV drama special will be set in the city of Chichibu in Saitama Prefecture. Since the original anime premiered back in 2011, Chichibu has become a tourist destination for many anime fans around the world and is regarded as an “anime holy land”.
The special will be airing this 21 September in Japan, which is of course, plenty of time to stock up on tissues and napkins to wipe away all those tears, which are a guaranteed part of the AnoHana franchise.
