  • Sound! Euphonium gets a new anime project

Ladies and gentlemen, Sound! Euphonium is getting a new anime! During the recently-concluded “Hibike! Euphonium 5-kaime da yo! Uji de Omatsuri Festival” event in Uji, Kyoto, Kyoto Animation revealed that they are doing a new anime project. They even revealed an announcement PV, as well as a key visual from the anime’s character designer, Shoko Ikeda.

The new anime will feature Kumiko in her 3rd year of high school, and they’re welcoming in new freshman members. This includes a very good Euphonium player from Sapphire’s old school named Maya Kuroe. It will adapt the latest book in Ayano Takeda’s band musical series, as well as the next upcoming book, coming out on 22nd June.

Unfortunately, Kyoto Animation did not reveal any further details just yet. They did not even announce the format for the upcoming anime, nor its release date. Though one thing is for sure, Kumiko and Reina are back!
