  • Trigger and Tsuburaya’s SSSS.Gridman TV anime reveals new visual and kaijuu

Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Darling in the Franxx, Little Witch Academia) is teaming up with Tsuburaya Productions (Ultraman) to produce the upcoming SSSS.Gridman TV anime. The anime is based on Tsuburaya’s 1993 live-action tokusatsu series, Gridman. And now, the staff have revealed a brand new key visual for this upcoming series. It features protagonist Yuuta Hibiki with Gridman himself.

And what is a tokusatsu-based anime without kaijuu, right?! The staff have now also revealed three new kaijuu which Gridman will be battling. The first one to the left is named Goolgirasu, while the middle one is Debadadan. Finally, the one to the right is named Anchi. Shinji Nishikawa (Godzilla anime), Hiroshi Maruyama (Ultraman series), and Ichiro Itano (Ultraman Nexus CG motion director) are the ones handling the Kaijuu designs, and based on their previous works, you know that they know their kaijuu.

Ninja Slayer’s Akira Amemiya is directing the project, while Keiichi Hasegawa is writing the scripts. Meanwhile, Masaharu Sakamoto is doing the character designs. The anime itself will premiere in October 2018 via Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11, and other channels.
