  • This AMAZING Initial D Cosplay will Blow Your Mind!

Most of the time, simple character designs from series based in the real world are more difficult to cosplay than exaggerated armour from fantasy or sci-fi settings. Take for example cult street racing title Initial D — all the characters wear real street clothes, and probably the most elaborate prop to make the entire cosplay work is to bring an actual car.

Well, these cosplayers from the recently concluded FANIME in the USA beg to differ, as this video from Twitter use @Apsykesthewolf shows.

In case you didn’t know, the two cars shown in the video are the two main vehicles of the street racing team Project D, from the 4th season of Initial D. The yellow car is the Mazda FD3S driven by uphill specialist Keisuke Takahashi, and the panda sedan is the Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 driven by downhill specialist and series lead Takumi Fujiwara.

Speculation is already rife on Twitter as to how the two miniature cosplay versions were constructed, however majority of the viewers concur that it was probably a Razor Crazy Cart modified with a cardboard outer shell. And while this cosplay is just amazing, I’m getting a real sense of deja vu, like I’ve just been to this place before…
