  • Love Japanese Whisky? Better Start Hoarding as Two Top Brands To Halt Sales Indefinitely!

One of the pleasures of having a Japanese meal is the accompanying drinks, and Japanese whisky are some of the best in the world. Which is why Japanese whisky fans have been in a tizzy over an announcement by maker Suntory Holdings Ltd. that they will be halting sales on two of their most popular brands: the single-malt whisky “Hakushu 12 Years Old” and the blended whisky “Hibiki 17 Years Old”.

They have not revealed if and when they will start selling the brands again in the future.

As Japan’s first whisky maker, Suntory is unable to keep with with demand for their liquor both domestically and internationally. Whisky enthusiasts who use to scoff at the idea of a quality whisky not made in Scotland, have seen been buying up the bottles in droves — especially after Japan beat Scotland in recent whisky blind taste tests.
