  • Live-action Bleach film reveals first footage with new teaser trailer

Warner Brothers Japan has now released a brand new teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action Bleach film. It features Ichigo’s first transformation as a Shinigami, as well as his first fight against a Hollow.

The video features actor Souta Fukushi as Ichigo, as well as actress Hana Sigisaki as Rukia. Aside from acting as Rin in Blade of the Immortal, actress Hana Sugisaki also happens to be a seiyuu as well. This is because she also voiced Mary in Mary and The Witch’s Flower. But her seiyuu roles don’t just end there, as she also voiced Sayaka in Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There. Meanwhile, Ichigo Kurosaki’s actor, Souta Fukushi, previously played live-action Strobe Edge‘s Ren Ichinose and live-action Kami-sama no Iu Toori‘s Shun Takahata.

Shinsuke Sato, who will be directing the film, is certainly no stranger to manga with connections to the afterlife. This is because he previously directed the two live-action Gantz films. The film’s story will follow the manga’s first major arc, which is the “Substitute Shinigami” arc.
