  • This Cardcaptor Sakura ad placement may be coincidental, but it’s just too perfect

Most of the time, ad companies place their ads in strategic locations where a lot of people can see them. However, sometimes, they unintentionally place them in areas which result to it being a bit more perfect than they intended. This can be the case for a train ad placement in Tokyo which involves Cardcaptor Sakura and a certain train station.

If you don’t quite get why, that’s because the secret is in hiragana, which can gives the placement a whole different context. In the image, the screen announces that the next station is Sakuradamon, and next to it is a Cardcaptor Sakura ad. The screen shows Sakuradamon Station’s name in Hiragana, which is ” さくらだもん”. In Japanese, the term “Damon” is a casual way of expressing explanation. This means that with the Cardcaptor Sakura ad on its left, the screen sort of announces “I’m Sakura”.

Twitter user @yuri00005 posted the images, and people retweeted it ver 36,000 times and liked more than 48,000 times. It seems that many people were impressed by that ad placement… even if it’s a coincidence.
