  • One Piece gets 2-hour TV special this August titled “Episode of East Blue”

    One Piece is up for yet another TV special this year, and this time, it’s called “Episode of East Blue”. Now, the official One Piece website has revealed new details on this TV special, which airs in August. Of course, this includes a new visual featuring Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji.

    The One Piece Episode of East Blue TV special will air 24th August at 9:00 pm JST. It features a new story that’s completely unique to the special, though it also features a few reanimated scenes throughout the One Piece TV anime. They also revealed a few still images from the upcoming TV special:

    The special celebrates the anime’s 20th anniversary, so it’ll also feature some of the manga’s first few chapter covers in the ED sequence. It also features the 20th anniversary commemoration of the anime’s very 1st OP, “We Are!!”.

    As usual, Toei will be animating the special, with PreCure All Stars DX director, Takashi Otsuka, directing it. Masayuki Sato serves as both the character designer and chief animation director, while Tomohiro Nakayama is writing the script.
