  • E3 2017 – Nintendo Direct

    With Microsoft and Sony showing off their offerings in the past two days, Nintendo wrapped up the series of press conferences today announcing their lineup for the coming year.

    Here are the highlights of the Nintendo Direct at E3 this year.

    Rocket League

    The popular Soccer-meets-demotion derby game,  Rocket League will be making its debut on the Switch later this year. While the game will include all the modes and features available on other platforms, the Switch version will also feature special content. Cross-platform capabilities were also announced but details on how they would work are rather slim.

    Xenoblade Chronicles 2

    Xenoblade Chronicles will be getting a sequel during this year’s holiday season. Featuring a new group of heroes, the game is a follow-up to the role-playing game originally available on the Wii.

    Kirby

    Kirby and his insatiable appetite will be heading to the Switch next year.

    Pokemon

    The Pokemon Company announced that they are working on a yet-to-be-named Pokemon RPG for the Switch.

    Metroid Prime 4

    Not much is known about the new entry to the Metroid Prime series, but at least we know it’s coming soon.

    Yoshi

    Yoshi is heading to the Switch with yet another cute light-hearted platforming adventure game.

    Fire Emblem Warriors

    After a relatively successful endeavour with an established  Nintendo franchise in the shape of Hyrule Warriors, Koei Tecmo is back. This time adding a bit of Warrior spice to Fire Emblem.

    Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

    As part of the Expansion Pass, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will get two new content packs. The first being the Master Trials, on June 30th, and The Champion’s Ballad, during the holiday season.

    Super Mario Odyssey

    Announced at a previous Nintendo Direct event, Super Mario Odyssey will be available on October 27.

    Sonic Forces

    Returning to it’s side-scrolling, platforming roots, Sonic and friends are back in Sonic Forces, which will be released Holiday 2017.

    Metroid: Samus Returns

    Samus Aran is set to don her iconic suit again later this year, in a complete remagination of the original Metroid game released in 1991.

    Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

    Announced at Ubisoft’s E3 conference earlier this week, the mascots of both Nintendo, and Ubisoft are set to team up in this wacky turn based adventure game.
