Miku Hatsune – Count-down to 10th Anniversary Fan Collection Face-Off – Singapore Winner #3: Theng Wei Xuan
I am Theng Wei Xuan, a hobby collector from Singapore. I started collecting figures when I was at the age of 16. The very first figure which I owned was a prize figure Luka. Even though it was a cheap figure, owning that figure had helped me to spark my passion in starting this hobby.
From that day, I began to expand my collection gradually with my savings. However, as a student, money has become a limiting factor for me to expand further. As such, I was forced to reduce my collection to a single series, in fact a single character. That character is no other than Hatsune Miku.
My collection is made up mainly of Hatsune Miku. However, I will sometimes still be drawn in by the temptation to buy some figures from other series. I guess the proudest collection which I own is the Hatsune Miku “Love Is War DX ver” figure which took me 3 years to source as I missed the pre order date.
Also I am glad that I manage to complete the vocaloid series by Tony Taka, who is one of my favourite artist. The figure which took the biggest toll on my wallet is no other than the 2 ¼ scale Hatsune Miku figure from FREEing. Of course, each and every other Hatsune Miku also plays a huge role in expanding my collection and cannot be missed. Even some series that collaborated with Hatsune Miku will also be in my collection list, eg. Black Rock Shooter.
My family is very supportive in my collection. In some special occasion such as my birthday for example, they will buy Hatsune Miku related merchandise for me as a present. Even my friends also only pick Hatsune Miku related merchandise as presents for me since they feel it is the safest option afterall.
The only regret I have in my collection is that I could not own a Hatsune Miku dollfie from Volks. Also, if I have more money, I would have purchased all the merchandise in the Racing Miku series as well.
Congratulations to Theng Wei Xuan for winning an exclusive Miku Hatsune prize pack courtesy of AFA World and WOW Japan!
