• March Comes in Like a Lion Cafe serving food from the manga

Chica Umino’s critically-acclaimed and multi-award-winning manga, March Comes in Like A Lion, has finally gotten a much-needed anime adaptation. In celebration of the new anime, a limited-time cafe will be running until 30th December at the fourth floor of the JP Tower KITTE in Chiyoda, Tokyo.

While the manga may focus more on Shougi and Rei’s relationships, particularly the three Kawamoto sisters, the manga would often feature food being prepared for Rei by those same sisters. The cafe’s menu includes:

Akari’s Special Pork Curry (1,480yen) – As seen in anime Episode 1 / manga Volume 2 Chapter 14
Akari’s Special Melty Stewed Pork with Rice (1,680yen) – As seen in manga Volume 8 Chapter 78
    Rei’s Solo Meal ~Egg Sandwich~ (1,080yen) – As seen in manga Volume 5 Chapter 51
Garlic Toast & Macaroni Salad with Tuna ~Sharing Hinata’s Celebration~(1,080yen) – As seen in manga Volume 9 Chapter 88
The Kawamoto Sisters’ Favourite! All-Topping Anmitsu (1,280yen) – As seen in manga Volume 5 Chapter 44
Chiho-chan’s Plum Syrup Flavoured Fruit Punch Soda (890yen) – As seen in manga Volume 8 Chapter 83
Mikazuki-dou’s Signature Azuki Milk Tea (830yen) – As seen in Volume 8 Chapter 83
Nya’s Paw Print Cookie (400yen) – Cafe original item

Akari’s Special Pork Curry is a recurring dish featured in the manga, and that is what Rocket news 24 reporter, Seiji Nakazawa, ordered, along with Rei’s Solo Meal ~Egg Sandwich~ and The Kawamoto Sisters’ Favourite! All-Topping Anmitsu.

There are also life-size standees and other exhibits on display, along with the usual merchandise from the anime.
