Good news for all anisong fans! Two awesome anisong groups, angela, and fripSide, will be collaborating in the opening theme for Season Two of Ajin, which will be airing this fall season later in October 2016. The anime movie, Ajin Part 2: Shoutotsu, had just begun airing across Japan from last Friday, May 6, 2016. There was also a stage greeting for part two of the movie, at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku, on the day of the movie release, and it was screened on LINE LIVE!
angela is a duo made up of atsuko (the vocalist), as well as KATSU(guitarist and arrangment). They love anisong with their heart, and never fail to produce songs that really capture the essence of the respective anime works. They have brought us many great anisongs in anime such as Soukyuu no Fafner, K, Knights of Sidonia, and are no strangers to the AFA: I Love Anisong concerts!
FripSide is also a duo, made up of voice actress Yoshino Nanjou (the vocalist) and composer Sat (Satoshi Yaginuma), producing mostly J-pop and trance music. They are famous for catchy beats and are fantastic at getting the crowd pumped up during live performances. Their popular hits include “Only my railgun” from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun and “Sister’s Noise” from the following season, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S.
And it seems that both angela and FripSide are really fired up about this collaboration as well!
Translation of Sat’s tweet: The collaboration between angela and fripSide has been announced! Please look forward to the opening theme of “Ajin”! #fripSide #angela #Ajin #Goldandsilverhaircombibegins
Translation of Atsuko’s tweet: I found this at the train station!
I am sure all of us are definitely excited for this epic collaboration!
The opening and ending songs for season one of Ajin were spectacular as well, with the catchy opening by Flumpool and the melancholic ending song by Mamoru Miyano.
If you missed them two seasons ago, do check them out here!
