While the Ghibli Museum may be closed for a while, fans visiting Tokyo in July may find a great alternative to get their Studio Ghibli fix, as the legendary Japanese animation studio is planning a massive exhibition in Roppongi Hills, at the Tokyo City View Observation Deck Sky Gallery.
The special exhibition will feature some of Studio Ghibli’s greatest works, and will even include exhibits from their latest work, The Red Turtle, which is a co-production with French animation studio Wild Bunch. Previously, the exhibition was held at the Niigata Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, but it did not feature the exhibits from The Red Turtle.
Officially titled Ghibli Exhibition ~ From Nausicaa to their newest work, The Red Turtle ~ / ジブリの大博覧会 ～ナウシカから最新作「レッドタートル」まで～, the event will be held from 7 July until 11 Septembr, and will also be featuring other Ghibli classics, like Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and many more. It will take a look at the legendary studio’s history, as well as feature some materials and more.
