  • [SEIYUU] Veteran Tooru Oohira Passes Away at age 86

    After a long career spanning decades, veteran seiyuu Tooru Oohira, has passed away at the age of 86. According to his agency, 81 Produce, Oohira passed away last 12 April after being hospitalised due to pneumonia.

    He is best known for his dubbing work for western movies, such as Darth Vader for the Star Wars franchise, as well as being the Japanese voice behind Homer Simpson. He is also the Japanese voice for Superman in the 1950’s live-action TV series, as well as voicing many classic anime characters, such as Hakushon Daimaou/ Hachoo in the Genie Family/ The Sneezing Magician, Gaimon in One Piece, and Doctor Kozaburo Nambu in the original Gatchaman anime.
