The giant humanoid cockroaches are coming, and as the live-action movie adaptation of Yuu Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana’s acience fiction thriller manga, Terraformars, is nearing its premiere date. A brand new trailer has finally been released, and it takes us to Mars for the Bugs-2 arc.
The movie’s theme song, “Break of Dawn” by Sandaime J Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe is featured in the new video, which also shows us several new footage of Bugs-2’s struggle against some of Mars’s gigantic cockroach problem.
The Hollywood star-powered cast, which includes big names like Rinko Kikuchi from Pacific Rim and Rila Fukushima from The Wolverine and Arrow, are confirmed to appear in the special. The live-action Terraformars movie is slated to premiere in Japan on 29 April 2016, which coincides with its Golden Week holidays promise.
The movie will be adapting the Bugs 2 arc from the manga, which are the second batch of people sent to Mars to counter the Terraformar threat. Because the original manga featured a multi-national cast which includes a man from Israel, a man from Thailand, an American, etc., the movie’s casting will go down like the live-action Attack on Titan movie, where the characters are getting what fans call a “race lift” and will feature a Japanese-only cast. Because this conflicts with the manga’s setting, changes to the characters were made.
