Since Fullmetal Alchemist features a lot of explosive battles, the movie will be featuring a lot of CGI and special effects to recreate some of the manga and anime’s most action-packed scenes. Alphonse Elric, whose body is literally all metal, will also be CGI-heavy.

Ryosuke Yamada from the all-male idol group, Hey! Say! Jump, will be playing the role of Edward Elric. Fans might know him from the live-action Assassination Classroom movies, where he plays the main character of Nagisa Shiota.

Ashita no Joe and Ping-Pong director, Fumihiko Sori, will be directing the movie, which is set to start filming from June to August 2016 in Italy, which certainly matches the European feel from the manga and anime adaptations. More news and casting will be revealed in the future.
