Things are happening around Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha seiyuu, Yukari Tamura, and it has gotten fans both talking and actually worried. Her official fan club, “Mellow Pretty,” King Records, and her management agency, I’m Enterprise, have all announced that important changes are happening soon, including abrupt changes to the seiyuu’s scheduled appearances, concerts, and others have been cancelled abruptly. In addition, her staff twitter account will be closing, while her official website will be undergoing “maintenance.”
The first casualty of all of this is her “Tamura Yukari 2016 Fuyu Live Kaisai” live, which was cancelled for “various circumstances.” Her two radio shows, “Tamura Yukari no Itazura Kuro Usagi” and “Kissa Kuro Usagi ~Himitsu Kobeya~” have also been cancelled, with “Tamura Yukari no Itazura Kuro Usagi” ending on 25 March, while “Kissa Kuro Usagi ~Himitsu Kobeya~” is ending on the next day, 26 March.
Meanwhile, her staff’s official twitter page will be closing down on 20 March, and her official website is scheduled to be undergoing “maintenance” starting 21 March. Ownership for her fanclub will also be changing beginning 1 April, and members will be informed to verify their information before that date.
Last year, Yukarin once posted a very cryptic post on her blog, with many saying that she was already hinting of retiring. She has previously mentioned that 2015 is a “year of farewells” for her, and also said that it is the “Begining of the end,” and that it is now a “slow countdown.” In addition, she also mentioned that “Even though we’re apart, it’s not like we can never meet, so it’s all right,” but later added that it was all a lie.
These events, coupled with last year’s blog post, have made fans all over the world worried that she might really be retiring, however, nothing has still been officially announced yet. More updates will be coming in the coming days, so stay tuned. Who knows? Maybe she’s just taking a short breather?
