We’re barely a month away from Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2015, and two more artistes have been announced for I LOVE ANISONG!
Specially brought to you from Japan for the first time to Southeast Asia, we present to you Aimer and Lia!
Most well known for her performance on the ending theme of Mobile Suit Gundam UC and also the second opening theme of the recent Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, Aimer is a relatively new name in the anisong industry.
However, don’t let the lack of years in the industry fool you, for her strong vocals, combined with her relative mastery of both the English and Japanese language makes her a force to be reckoned with.
Aimer has been exposed to music from a young age, and had played the piano in her elementary years, and subsequently the guitar in junior high.
She released her first album titled “Rokutosei no Yoru” / “Kanashimi wa Aurora ni” / “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” on 7 September 2011 with the song “Rokutosei no Yoru” being the ending theme for the anime series No. 6.
Aimer then went on to release her second album “Re:pray/Sabishikute Nemurenai Yoru wa” on 14 December 2011 with “Re:pray” being used as the 26th ending theme of Bleach.
Releasing albums on a regular basis, she continued on to release her third album “Yuki no Furumachi/Fuyu no Diamond” on 22 February 2012 and her fourth “Anata ni Deawanakereba: Kasetsu Toka / Hoshikuzu Venus” on 15 August 2012. “Anata ni Deawanakereba: Kasetsu Toka” was used as the ending song for the anime Natsuyuki Rendezvous.
Aimer’s presence in the anisong industry continued to grow, leading her to release the single “RE:I AM”, which contained both “RE:I AM” and “StarRingChild, both used as the ending themes of Mobile Suit Gundam UC.
Lastly, and most recently, she released her latest single “Brave Shine” on 3 June 2015, which is also the ending theme for Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works.
Aimer will be performing on 27 November 2015 (Friday) as the latest addition to the “I LOVE ANISONG” lineup.
Lia is not new face to the anisong industry, having performed many theme songs for various anime series over her 15 years in the anisong industry.
She signed with Key Sounds Label in 2001, and Pony Canyon in 2004. She is most remembered for her theme song performances for Key’s visual novels and anime , some of her most notable being “Tori no Uta” from Air and “My Soul Your Beats” from Angel Beats!
Did you know? Lia also recorded herself singing “Senbonzakura”
Recently, she released her latest single “Bravely You”, which was the opening theme for another one of Key’s work, Charlotte.
She is also the voice behind IA: Aria of the Planetes, which was released as part of the third generation Vocaloid software.
Lia will be performing on 29th November 2015 (Sunday) as the latest addition to the ‘I LOVE ANISONG’ lineup.
