After announcing her hiatus last April, iDOLM@STER seiyuu, Akiko Hasegawa, best known for her role as Miki Hoshii in both the anime and the original video games, has now finally given birth to a healthy baby boy.
This will be the seiyuu’s very first child, and according to Yahoo! Japan, she describes her son as “really cute” and a “bundle of joy”. She announced that now that she is a mother, she will be busier than ever and then thanked everyone for their support and vowed to “grow as a mother.”
Hasegawa announced her marriage last year and when she announced her pregnancy, she immediately went on hiatus. She also announced that she is taking a break from appearing in events despite also announcing that she is already in her safe period at that time. She then apologized to her fans who were expecting to see her on stage.
Aside from voicing Miki from im@s, she also voiced Rena Ashihara from Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS, Akari from Fantasista Doll, and Ruu Narita from Photo Kano. She is affiliated with the agency, ARTVISION, and also has a successful singing career as she has already launched her first album back in 2011.
So to Akiko Hasegawa, we here at AFA Channel would like to congratulate you on your first baby and wish you good luck with your new family!
