For the first time in her career, Lisa visited Manila on 27 Jun 2015 for her live and fan meet session “LiSA – Another Great Day in Manila”. It was clear from the get-go that she was excited to perform in front of her Filipino fans for the first time! Really! Really! Excited!
So we sat down with LiSA for a little bit to hear how she felt about her first performance in the Philippines.
Is this your first time in the Philippines?
Since you’ve been here, what local foods would you like to try? The ones you’ve heard of, like Halo-halo, Lechon?
Yes! Halo-halo, Roast Pig (lechon), Mango, BANANA!!!!! and BANANAS! (with severe emphasis on the bananas!)
Are there any places here in the Philippines that you would like to visit? Other places besides Manila like Cebu, Boracay, Cagayan de Oro?
My image of the Philippines is more of the resort kind of country, like Cebu, that is full of mangoes and banana trees. Not so much of the metropolitan, like here in Manila, so I would actually like to visit that side of the Philippines.
You are known to many fans for performing AniSongs, what makes them so special?
When I sing my own songs (non-AniSong), I sing as myself, as LiSA. But when I sing AniSong, I sing from the perspective of the anime and the anime characters, which makes it a different challenge for me.
Your latest single is Rally-Go-Round, which of course is the OP for Nisekoi. Which Nisekoi heroine is your favorite? Are you Team Chitoge? Team Onodera? Team Tsugumi or Team Marika?
I’m with Chitoge! I think she’s cute! Her face is so cute! She’s like a gorilla but she’s really cute!
You sang the theme song for Fate/ Zero, Oath Sign, which servant is the one you would like to have? Saber, Archer, Lancer, Berserker, Assassin, Caster or Rider? Why?
Rider, since he’s very strong and visually, he looks very big.
Have other artistes influenced you in your music, and if so, who?
Avril Lavigne! I really love her.
Of all the songs you have done in your career, which ones do you think has moved people the most?
It was when I was singing the song for Angel Beats! as part of Girls Dead Monster titled Ichiban no Takaramono during a concert, the applause just wouldn’t stop and that felt very special.
After the Philippines, your next stop in South East Asia will be in Singapore, how excited about you for that?
I’ve been to Singapore so many times, and I have performed there all with AFA. But since this will be my first solo concert there, it will be very special.
With AFA, it’s not really my own show as there are other artists involved and I can’t really fully present what I want the audience to listen to, with this own solo concert of mine, I am really excited to show Singapore my fullest this time!
And Finally, a word to your fans
Since this is my first time performing in the Philippines, I am really excited about performing here and I want to go to other places and keep spreading my music.
Please keep supporting me!
To LiSA, thank you so much for sitting down with us! And when you come back, hopefully, more BANANAS will be waiting for you!
