After 27 years, the late Fujio Akatsuka’s gag manga about mischievous sextuplets, Osomatsu-kun, will be getting a new anime adaptation, and its official website has made several big announcements about who will be voicing the sextuplets.
Previously, it was revealed that the eldest of the sextuplets, Osomatsu, will be voiced by veteran Takahiro Sakurai (Miyuki Kazuya from Ace of Diamond, Ferid Bathory from Seraph of the End). The latest announcements reveal the voices behind the rest of his younger brothers.
Voicing the second son, Karamatsu, will be Yuuichi Nakamura, best known for his roles as Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tail and Umetarou Nozaki from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun.
The third son, Choromatsu, will be voiced by the one and only Hiroshi Kamiya, best known for voicing Levi from Attack on Titan and Izaya Orihara from Durarara!!.
The fourth son, Ichimatsu, will be voiced by Jun Fukuyama, well-known for his roles as Koro-sensei from Assassination Classroom as well as Yuuta Togashi from the Chuunibyou series.
The fifth member of the sextuplets, Juushimatsu, will be voiced by Daisuke Ono, who has previously voiced Black Butler’s Sebastian Michaelis and Attack on Titan’s Erwin Smith.
Finally, the seiyuu for the youngest son, Todomatsu, will be played by Miyu Irino, who is Code Geass: Akito the Exiled’s Akito Hyuuga and currently leading Seraph of the End as Yuichiro Hyakuya.
Osomatsu-kun will be returning as an anime after a long 27 years. Although this is third time the evergreen manga will be receiving an anime adaptation, it will be first time it is being animated after its creator’s passing in 2008. The first anime adaptation was launched back in 1966 and ran till 1967, while the second adaptation ran from 1988 till 1989. The story revolves around the sextuplets who are all in-love with a girl named Totoko, and the comedy that ensues but this new series will now follow the sextuplets as adults, as they were previously featured as 10-year olds in the manga.
