A magazine scan from the upcoming 34th issue of Young Jump Magazine has confirmed that one of this year’s most anticipated anime, One-Punch Man, will be part of the autumn anime season and will premiere in October 2015.
The anime was a long-time coming as fans have been waiting for an anime adaptation for the highly-popular shounen battle manga series by Eyeshield 21 creator, Yuusuke Murata and ONE for a very long while now.
Makoto Furukawa (Golden Time’s Banri Tada) voices the main character, Saitama a.k.a. One Punch Man, and Kaito Ishikawa (Haikyuu!!’s Tobio Kageyama) will be providing the voice for Saitama’s apprentice, Genos. Yuuki Kaji (Attack on Titan’s Eren Yeager) will voice Onsoku no Sonic while another Yuuki, Aoi Yuuki (Sword Art Online II’s Yuuki Kono) (see what we did there?) will be voicing Senritsu no Tatsumaki.
One Punch Man is based on Yusuke Murata (Eye Shield 21 creator) and ONE‘s popular shounen manga series based on a hero who has trained so much and has become so powerful that his hair has fallen off. The anime adaptation will be produced by Madhouse with Space Dandy’s Shingo Natsume as the director.
