  • [ANIME] New Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri TV ad shows the conflict between fantasy and modern Japan

    The upcoming military and fantasy anime, Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri, is one of the hottest new anime coming into July as part of the Summer 2015 anime season. A brand new TV Ad has finally been aired in Japan and it shows just exactly what the anime is about, which is the meeting of two worlds and the conflict between them.

    The video features Junichi Suwabe (Fate/ Stay Night’s Archer), as the JSDF officer, Youji Itami, who also happens to be an otaku. In the new world, he encounters the elf named Tuka Luna Marso, voiced by Hisako Kanemoto (Maria the Virgin Witch’s Maria), the human mage named Lelei la Lelena, voiced by Nao Touyama (Nisekoi’s Chitoge, Oregairu’s Yui Yuigahama, and Kantai Collection’s four Kongou sisters), and the demigod named Rory Mercury, voiced by Risa Taneda (Kyoukai no Kanata’s Mirai Kuriyama and Strike the Blood’s Yukina Himeragi).

    Gate is based on the light novel series written by former Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) officer, Kaku Tatakaeri titled Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite. It is set in our modern world, however, a sudden appearance of a magic portal in Tokyo’s Ginza district changes everything and Japan’s JSDF is sent to investigate. This results in a clash between the modern world and the fantasy world. The anime premieres on 3 July 2015
