Because that is the very premise of the new anime called Gate, and the new anime’s official website has just underwent a massive update by revealing its first key visual, PV, release date, staff, and cast!
Gate is based on the light novel series written by former Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) officer, Kaku Tatakaeri titled Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite. It is set in our modern world, however, a sudden appearance of a magic portal in Tokyo’s Ginza district changes everything and Japan’s JSDF is sent to investigate. This results in a clash between the modern world and the fantasy world.
