• Legendary writer Jun Maeda in need of a heart transplant

The writer behind some of the most heart-wrenching anime in existence like Clannad and Angel Beats! has revealed in his twitter page that he himself is in need of a new heart. In a series of tweets following his hospitalisation due to a heart ailment, Jun Maeda has revealed that he needs a heart transplant.

In his tweet, the Clannad writer has  said that he has already been examined and he has found out that he needs a heart transplant. He ended his series of tweets on a lighter note when he said that even if the transplant would be painful and expensive, he is still playing Muramasa and is currently having more trouble with the game. I guess the guy who made so many people cry because of his works does not want people worried about himself.

The legendary writer also assured fans of his works that he intends to live longer and continue to create more stories. Hopefully, Jun Maeda will make more heart-wrenching stories with a new heart soon.

Maeda previously revealed that he has idiopathic dilated carsiomyopathy (unexplained enlargement and weakening of the heart’s left ventricle).

Also known as a composer of anime songs, Jun Maeda also wrote several well-known anime and visual novels. His most notable works include KEY’s Kanon, Air, Clannad, and Little Busters!, and he was also the creator for Angel Beats! and Charlotte. He also supervised the musical production for other Key visual novels, as well as their respective anime adaptations.
