• [ANIME] Ari Ozawa, M.A.O., Mikako Izawa, Rie Murakawa lead Wakaba Girls TV anime cast

The upcoming July 2015 issue of Manga Time Kirara Max has announced the four main voice cast members for the upcoming moe TV anime, Wakaba Girls, which is based on a popular 4-panel comedy manga by Hara.

According to the scan, main character, Wakaba Kohashi, will be voiced by none other than Ari Ozawa (Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun’s Chiyo Sakura) while Mao Kurokawa will be voiced by M.A.O. (Arpeggio of Blue Steel’s Hiei). Meanwhile, Moeko Tokita will be voiced by Mikako Izawa (Locodol’s Satsuki Kashiba) and Nao Mashiba will be voiced by Rie Murakawa (Atelier: Escha & Logy’s Escha Malier).

The anime will focus on the day-to-day lives of rich girl, Wakaba Kohashi and her friends. Wakaba may be an elegant rich girl, but she is very interested in the “Gyaru” sun-culture while Mao is a bit of an air head. Moeko is pure and innocent, however, Nao seems to be slowly becoming a fujoshi.

Wakaba Girls is scheduled to premiere on 3 July 2015 and will be directed by The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya episode director, Seiji Watanabe. Aquarion EVOL and The Irregular at Magic High School character designer, Kana Ishida, will be doing the character designs while Love Live!’s Jukki Handa will handle the script writing. Nexus will animate the series and it will be shown during Tokyo MX’s  “Ultra Super Anime Time” programming block.
